Position Overview

Zoom Drain is looking for a motivated, hardworking individual to join our team as a Drain Technician Apprentice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in learning a skilled trade and building a long-term career in the drain and sewer industry.

As an apprentice, you will work alongside an experienced Drain Technician, learning the tools, techniques, and skills necessary to eventually advance into a full Drain Technician role.

This is a physically demanding, labor-intensive position that requires a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a variety of environments and conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist experienced Drain Technicians with residential and commercial drain and sewer service calls.
• Learn to safely operate and maintain drain-cleaning equipment, including drain snakes, sewer cameras, electronic locators, and hydrojetters.
• Assist with diagnosing and resolving drain and sewer issues.
• Help set up, transport, clean, and maintain equipment and work areas.
• Learn proper techniques for clearing clogged drains and performing sewer line services.
• Assist with job-site preparation, cleanup, and customer communication.
• Follow all company safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.
• Develop the technical knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to become an independent Drain Technician.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying equipment, bending, kneeling, and working in confined or dirty environments.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
• Previous plumbing, construction, mechanical, or trade experience is a plus, but not required.
